Great farewell of Blanca del Rey, Queen of the Shawl and Soul of Corral de la Morería
The prestigious Festival de la Unión (which Corral de la Morería hosts in Madrid) was the venue for the unrivaled Cordoban dancer farewell.
Blanca was very sure that she would hang up her shoes whilst still being in the peak and splendor of her dancing, and she showed much more than that at the international stage in Murcia, drawing cheers and tears of emotion from the audience and from her family and friends who were there to support her.

Foo Fighters at Corral de la Morería
From the world of music, we received on last July the visit of the bassist of Foo Fighters, Nate Mendel..
This worldwide known group filled on July 7th the Palacio de los Deportes de Madrid. They didn't leave our city without tasting a bit of Flamenco culture by visiting our tablao. Nate spent the evening shaking his head to the compass of the tapping of our artists and the night ended with the photo de rigueur, with the artist on our tablao.

Corral de la Morería’s participation in the Suma Flamenca was an entire success
The "2º Festival Flamenco Corral de la Morería 2011" held in the Suma Flamenca festival of the Community of Madrid was a complete success.

Corral de la Morería: another year in the programme of Suma Flamenca
Corral de la Morería participates in the Suma Flamenca festival as one of the auditoriums that will host Flamenco great figures during June. Our tablao is positioned among these venues as the oldest and most prestigious. In collaboration with the Community of Madrid, organiser of the festival, Corral de la Morería collaborates in filling up with Flamenco art the streets of Madrid.

Desperate housewives at Corral de la Morería
The American actress Dana Delany recently paid a visit to our tablao. Dana was in a promotional tour for the new series "Body Proof", to be aired by television network Cuatro.
This Emmy Award-winning New Yorker has been twice nominated for the Golden Globes Awards and she is today best known for her role as Katherine Mayfair" in Desperate Housewives.

Corral de la Morería on TV in Ukraine
The public television channel of Ukraine, leader in audience in its country, was in Madrid to find out about the most significant places of the city.
When time came to learn about dance of our country, they came to the Cathedral of Flamenco, Corral de la Morería.
They were so delighted that when the recording was finished they stayed for our second pass at midnight to enjoy the show with the camera off.

Corral de la Morería elected embassy in Madrid by the foundation Cante de las Minas.
On Thursday April 14th, 2011, took place the presentation of the LI edition of the Festival Internacional de las Minas de La Unión, organised by the Foundation Cante de las Minas. Its chief executive and mayor of La Unión was in charge of showing us the programme of the Festival , which starts on August 3rd, with the participation, among others, of the singer "Pitingo" (August 5th), Estrella Morente (August 6th), the dancer "Farruquito" (August 7th), the guitarist "Tomatito" and our Artistic Director Blanca del Rey who will perform on August 8th. Blanca del Rey announced that she is retiring from stage, and will do that with a special performance at the Festival of her well known "Soleá del Mantón”.

We were recently visited by the worldwide renowned film director Alejandro Amenábar, winner of 11 Goya awards and 1 Oscar, and from the world of sports by professional tennis player Fernando Verdasco. Both enjoyed one of so many memorable evenings that occur every day in our tablao.

Haiti Charity Dinner
Under the initiative of Darío Barrio, famous chef of the restaurant Dassa Bassa, renowned Chefs and Restaurateurs from Madrid gathered on the 28th of March at the Hotel Mirasierrra Suites to cooperate in the construction of a school offering a charity dinner with the proceeds going entirely to the humanitarian work. Many personalities and celebrities attended to the event to support the initiative.

Harrison Ford and Jane Badler at Corral de la Morería
On last January we enjoyed an evening full of artists, both on stage and among the public who came to visit us.
Actor Harrison Ford, a regular patron of Corral de la Morería and American actress Jane Badler known for playing "Diana" in the series "V, extraterrestrial invasion" and the role of "Meredith Braxton" in the soap opera Falcon Crest have signed our guestbook.

NBC visited Corral de la Morería
On April 17 we received the visit of our friends at NBC from New York. They had heard in that cosmopolitan city about our tablao and wanted to see for themselves how it truly was the oldest Flamenco show in the world.
On the occasion of a trip to Madrid they decided to make a stop at Corral de la Morería and to include the show in their program "Destination Getaway". This is a program that unveils the secrets of the world's major cities.

On Wednesday June 24th took place at Corral de la Morería the Closing Gala of Suma Flamenca 2009. The special performance of Granada’s Flamenco singer Marina Heredia was a big success. Special performance of: JUANA LA DEL REVUELO One Single Night - Saturday May 31 at 24:00 hrs. At CORRAL DE LA MORERÍA
It will happen on Corral de la Morería’s stage, with a wicker basket, and the whole art from Triana. Juana la del Revuelo, festera par excellence, will be accompanied by her husband Martín, unique in the art of interpreting the bulerías based on different languages.
The Flamenco critic has said about her:
“She is one of the finest-looking and more substantial festeras of the present time. Sort of a rhythmic earthquake on the boards… And truthfully her rhythmic beat is so genuine that it is all what she needs and more to dazzle the cabales. Juana la del Revuelo is a Flamenco festera with repertoire and Flamenco art at its best. For that reason she is there, in the glittering signs of Flamenco festivals.”
