Ruben Olmo was born in Seville in 1980. When he is
9 he starts in the conservatory of that city, where
he obtains a degree in Spanish and Classical Dance.
Among his professors, we find Marisol Delgado, Jose
Manuel Moreno and the bailaora (dancer) Pepa Coral.
He completes his training taking classes in the schools
of Manolo Martin, Carmen Montiel, and Jose Galvan with
several courses with Victoria Eugenia, "Manolote",
"Güito", Mario Maya, Javier Latorre,
Aída Gómez, Antonio Canales, ....
When he is 14 he begins in the first choreographic
workshop of the Andalusian Dance Company, directed by
Maria Pages and imparted by Javier Baron.
At the age of 16, he joins Javier Baron's Company,
with the show "El pajaro Negro" (the
Black Bird), with Belen Amaya as main bailaora (dancer).
That same year, 1996, he moves to Madrid to continue
his studies with professors like Rosa Naranjo, Carmina
Ocaña y Aída Gómez.
He is part of the Aida Gomez's Spanish Dance Company,
with the show “Estamos solos” (We
are Alone), choreographed by José Antonio, Javier
Latorre and Aída herself. Distinguished as solo
dancer in that show.
When he turns 18, he takes part in “El Barberillo
de Lavapies” a production for the Teatro
de la Zarzuela (Zarzuela Theatre). In March of the same
year he joins Spain National Ballet , directed at that
time by Aida Gomez. He opens in the Teatro Real (Royal
Theatre) as frist dancer the choreography “Luz
de alma” (Light of the Soul)
